Sevenoaks Alliance Church is part of a Christ-centered global movement more than 6 million strong. Our Acts 1:8 family —inspired by Jesus’ love and empowered by His Spirit—is passionate to bring the good news about Him to our neighborhoods and
We Love Our World
Our family of churches sends and supports hundreds of Alliance international workers who care for the sick, befriend the lonely, and introduce spiritually impoverished people to the One who releases us all from the curse of sin and the sting of death.
PURPOSE STATEMENT
The MISSIONS COMMITTEE
OF
SEVENOAKS ALLIANCE CHURCH
The Missions Committee serving Sevenoaks Church exists to promote “Missions” In our community of faith.
-
We believe that “Missions" (reaching the lost – wherever) must always be our priority.
-
This focus comes from the heart of God who had only one Son and He made Him a missionary.
-
“Missionary” is in our name.
-
It is found in each iteration of the Great Commission.
-
It is in the final words that Jesus spoke at His ascension: Acts 1:8“…and unto the uttermost parts of the world.”
-
The Bible begins with “Let there be light.”Jesus teaches that we are the "light of the world ”
-
In Gen 12:1-3 we learn that the Chosen people through Abraham were given a divine origin and a divine mission: “And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”Israel (in the OT) is a type of the church.Gal 3:8 The church has the same divine mission
We exist to know Jesus and to Make Him Known
8 Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people. “Some from every tribe and nation will be there.”
9 Matt 24:14“And this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached “in all the world….for a witness to all nations.”
Therefore: We will work diligently to accomplish the following goals:

Remind our membership to keep “Missions” as a priority,
-
Report regularly to our constituency to tell what our God is doing,
-
Raise prayer support for all of our missionaries,
-
Recruit “laborers” for the harvest,
-
Revive repeatedly the passion and vision of Christ’s sacrifice for the whole world,
-
Renew the call to all to participate by giving generously to and support this missionary engagement.

Remember that God gave His best and so should we.
